Jhunjhunu
Jhunjhunu is a district in the state of Rajasthan that lies about 180 kilometres off Jaipur. The district was constructed in the memory of the Jujhar Singh Nehra of the Nehra clan. Jhunjhunu is the largest of all the towns in Shekhawati and is known for its splendid forts and havelis. Havelis namely Muragh Das Modi and Khaitans are worth a visit.
There are several other attractions in Jhunjhunu. Shri Ranisatiji Mandir in Jhunjhunu is an ancient pilgrimage in India. The temple is a historic masterpiece. The Khetri Mahal built in 1760 is another place of tourist interest that is quite sophisticated in its architecture. The Modi and Tiberwala Havelis that stand in the main market of Jhunjhunu are interesting structures. The chhatris and wells can be seen in large numbers around Jhunjhunu town. In addition to these, places namely Qamruddin Shah ki Dargah, Laxminath Temple, Badal Garh, Mertani Baori, Birdhi Chand Well, Ishwardas Mohandas Haveli and Ajeet Sagar are also worth visiting.
