Karauli
Karauli was once a princely state in Rajasthan. It is located at a distance of 23 kilometres from Kaila Devi. Karauli is built entirely in pale red sandstone. Some of the noted places in Karauli include the Kaila Devi Temple and Madan Mohanji Temple. There are some other historic monuments as well that are places of tourist interest.
The annual Kaila Devi Fair held the Kaila Devi Temple is also very famous. The Kaila Devi Fair is held in the month of March-April. The celebrations continue for a fortnight. The fair is a great crowd puller and attracts approximately two lakh pilgrims every year. Devotees come from far off lands to pay homage to the deity at the temple. They pray and offer cash, coconuts, sweets and bangles to the Goddess.
