Nawalgarh
Nawalgarh was founded by Thakur Nawal Singh in 1737. Nawalgarh has the largest number of painted havelis (mansions) in the entire Shekhawati region. The place still retains the old-world charm and has several havelis worth-visiting.
Nawalgarh Fort is the major tourist attraction in Nawalgarh. The fort was built in 1737. At present it houses some government offices and two banks as well. At a distance of about one kilometer from the fort is the massive structure of Roop Niwas Palace. The garden and the fountains present inside the palace add to its beauty. The palace has now been converted into a heritage hotel. The Anandi Lal Poddar Haveli is another attraction in Nawalgarh. The haveli was constructed in the year 1920. The haveli at present has a school in its premises. Several splendid paintings adorn the walls of the haveli. The only haveli in the Shekhawati region that has been restored till date, the Aath Haveli Complex has eight havelis, as the name suggests. It is worth visiting.
